DONALD Trump will be taking an oath using his Scottish mother’s bible as he is sworn in as US President for the second time.
Trump’s mother Mary Anne MacLeod, was born in fishing town Tong, on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis, in May 1912.

A native Gaelic speaker, Mary Anne grew up three miles away from Stornoway, with Trump describing her birthplace as “serious Scotland”.
She emigrated to the US when she was only 18 to start a new life in the states – one of thousands of Scots who emigrated to America in the early 20th century due to economic pressures back home.
Mary left Lewis for New York to seek work as a domestic servant emigrating to New York in the 1930s on the RMS Transylvania.
She became a US citizen in 1942, before moving to Queens with Frederick Trump, where she raised her five children.
She died in 2000 aged 88 and is buried in New York.
Trump describes his late mother as a “terrific woman”, taking pride in his roots.
Mary Anne gifted Trump the Bible – which he used when swearing in as President back in 2017 – back in 1955 after he graduated from Sunday school.
He previously said: “My mother gave me this Bible.
“This very Bible many years ago.
“It is very special to me.”
As Trump is sworn in today as the 47th President of America, he will take an oath using his mothers bible for the second time.
The inauguration in Washington, DC is being relocated indoors due to cold temperatures.
Trump maintains his Scottish roots with his ownership of the golf resort, Trump Turnberry, Ayrshire, and Trump International, in Aberdeenshire.
Trump still has three cousins on the Isle of Lewis, and visited the house in which his mother grew up in 2008.
In his first international TV interview, Trump told Piers Morgan he ‘feels British’ thanks to his Scottish ancestry.
He added: “Very special people and a very special place”
